The blend for this estate grown, produced and bottled red is 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of black currant and raspberry on the nose, with hints of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and a dollop of menthol. On the palate, flavors of black currant and cherry mingle with chocolate, leather, and tobacco; a touch of leafiness emerges at the end. The appellation ‘Paicines’ has an interesting history. The 2004 Seven Sinners Syrah was sourced primarily from the Oakville District in Napa Valley. Aromas of blackberry, anise, white pepper and cigar notes dominate the nose followed by deep-layered ripe flavors of black raspberry and sweet oak on the palate. The additi on of 5% Petite Sirah gives the wine added density, richness, power and purity.
